![]() "What's wrong with being cute and bossy?" -Sana
Kurata Sana is the main character of Kodocha. She leads the very busy life of being both a grade six student, and a popular child star. Sana is, first and foremost, very hyperactive. For the first few episodes, her constant hysteria is kind of annoying because that's all we see of her - but gradually a calmer side of her is shown. Sana overreacts, shouts, is melodramatic, babbles incessantly, launches into psycho songs for no apparent reason, makes up stupid rhymes and gets very passionate about whatever is currently drawing her interest. She is also quite a kind girl. She likes little kids, sticks up for her friends and occasionally makes sacrifices for the sake of others. She's quite brave and stands up to the entire male population of her class alone without fear. Her best friend and worst enemy is Hayama Akito. Originally she couldn't bear him - and said so, in constant loud yammering - but now they get along really well, although she lives in constant fear of his making a move; in the past, he has kissed her and felt her up just because she "got too close". ^_^; Several guys like her, or used to. She 'dated' Rei for most of her life, but it was not sincere on his part, and gradually, with a little prodding from Hayama (who was trying to get rid of his rivals ^_^.), the two split up. Tsuyoshi had liked Sana for a year, but Hayama persuaded him to go out with Aya instead. And so Hayama got rid of his two rivals, but a new one came along; Naozumi. Sana thinks of Naozumi as a brother, at the moment anyway... She is temperamental, switching from thoughtfulness to a screaming fit, from pensiveness to a song, which she composes on the spot with help of her various composing/feedback devices. Speaking of devices, she also uses something called Burrucha a lot - a communicator that she uses to get in instant touch with Rei, and later Hayama. Sana has been trained in drama with Komawari Troupe, and learns many techniques and skills from there, some of which she tries to apply to real life. She has acted in commercials, a made-for-TV movie and guest-starred on some shows, but her passion is for theatre and live performance, where you "don't get a second chance". She also regularly appears on Zenjirou's 'Kodomo no Omocha' (Child's Toy), which is a show that mimics a school, with Zenjirou as the teacher. Sana is usually the centre of attention on the show, and keeps the ratings up. Actually, Sana is the centre of attention wherever she goes. She draws crowds of her fans on the street, which can sometimes be an inconvenience, she is the star of any drama she participates in, and even at school she often draws attention to herself. Sana is one of those people who is good at almost everything. She's confident, popular, and very good at sport, acting, singing, dancing, games, making friends, being with children, and generally decent at school. However, her handwriting is not very good, and her maths is her real weak point. She has struggled with it for most of her school life, and thinks that the ideal school would be one without maths. |
